Let me journey into the mountain
Dig myself into it’s mysteries
Burrow into the depths and unearth the hidden gems
Each year that passes, i slowly excavate deeper, and realise how far I have yet to go
Each shovelful of dirt I move reveals richness I couldn’t imagine
The blisters on my hands and on my heart remind me how much each treasure has cost
Sometimes, those shovels of earth reveal a truth I don’t expect
And as I pause to catch my breath
I feel a part of my old self fall away
Parts of myself I no longer need
I am more than the promises I made when I was young
Bigger than the dreams I had when I was small
Wiser now than the child I left behind
And yet a wiser voice than this calls me deeper
Stirring
Pulling
Catching my soul aflame with possibilities
Urging me to keep digging towards the incomprehensibly valuable heart of the mountain.
Still deeper
Always deeper
I am reborn
The struggle against the weight of the task dismantles me
Heals me
Reveals me
I am reborn
