Interwoven

I am down at Surrender 19: Interwoven.

Its an amazing time of creatively thinking theologically about justice, faith, intersectionality and hope.

I painted some art and wrote some words and thought I’d put them here:

Interwoven

The threads of my life

And yours.

And tangled in the midst,

The stuff of life:

the beauty;

the discarded bits of stories half-told;

dangling tails of premature endings;

the golden bits of new beginnings;

long, unbroken skeins of persistent endurance

Woven through

Securing

Anchoring

Intersecting with the

Short, defiant, intense, remnants:

hope and

grief and

joy and

sadness.

My tattered scrap of Promise-Unrealised

Stretching over and tucked under

Your lustrous thread of Dream-Fulfilled.

Your worn-out rope of Grief-Long-Remembered

Knotted to my bloodied bandage of Fresh-Pain.

I bring my life to the Great Loom

You bring yours

All of us

Weaving our lives together

Diverging and merging

Beauty in the chaos of

colliding colour

the texture of experiences

shared

held

understood.
